This site and work is an act of revolution for and about women.

Producer, Dr. Carmen Meyers is an artist and educator committed to developing applied theatre practice as a basis for community empowerment. She is an Assistant Professor at Bronx Community College/CUNY and has over eighteen years of teaching experience at the college level. Her research specialization is in verbatim documentary theatre and ethnodrama addressing women’s issues with a specific focus on political representation, aging, and domestic violence. Dr. Meyers holds a MFA from Indiana University and a EdD in Educational Theatre from New York University. Her recent work includes her new verbatim documentary play, Divided We Stand, that explores the political polarization of women in the age of Donald Trump. In 2020, she received a President’s Grant to fund a collaboration with colleague John Socas and the students of Bronx Community College, to create the film The Essential Bronx: COVID Stories: Part 1, that preserves our students’ authentic experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Part II is currently in post-production and will be released in May 2021. She has been a proud member of the Actors’ Equity Association for seventeen years and lives in New York City.
